rating warrior cats ships.

i found a masterlist of every single ship but i am only going to do those i have heard of. most things in or after A Vision of Shadows I will also remove because I read A Vision Of Shadows and The Broken Code only once, so I have not committed them entirely to memory.

AshMoon According to the Warriors Ship Wiki, this is a ship between Moonkitti and Ashfur. Literally what. I hate how this is the alphabetical first thing who ever came up with this and how did it get popular enough to get on ship wiki. Idk I need context here I'm baffled and a bit horrified honestly. If anything Moonkitti and Dovewing because "I lovewing dovewing". But still. We should not be shipping people with warrior cats. Ashfur especially.. tsk tsk. Though I know this is a joke, still I'm not enthused.

AshSquirrel Squirrelflight and Ashfur. Genuinely. No. It's evident as to why, sure Ashfur may have 'loved too much' (thanks Yellowfang for being illogical to advance the plot) but really, posessing one's husband and attempting to kill one's child... and he doesn't even do it in a semi-justifiable manner like Mapleshade did when she took vengance on her ex.

BillyLeaf Billystorm and Leafstar. I have a very vivid memory of myself (probably re)reading Skyclan's Destiny and that one scene where Leafstar was like oooh the world is melting I am sooo~ in love~ and me being like EW AUGH GROSS! and throwing the book into the wall. So. But genuinely, being older, they're chill. Like. Nothing objectionable about them. Just a daylight warrior who gave up his housefolk for his mate, which is rather nice. In general Billystorm and Leafstar are good cats.

BlueFire Bluestar and Fireheart. :/. Gosh. Whoever came up with this you are either 9 years old or you are making a joke. It's evident that Bluestar was a mother figure to Firestar, so shipping them is clearly wrong. JUSTTT because a she-cat and a tom interact doesn't meannnn...

BlueOak Bluestar and Oakheart. Alright. Here's my unpopular opinion get ready!! I think this was very forced. When she was younger Bluestar was ALL about !! I'm not gonna be a mother or have a mate I'm gonna be a WARRIOR. And the old people in the clan were like "you'll be a husk of a cat without a mate" (Or something like that) and she was like hah. Little do you know. THEN the authors pulled a 'taking away character development in favor of plot reasons and in favor of our own intrinsic biases' and a MALE cat (with nothing significant about him) appeared and was like. Hi. I've seen you for one minute let's have children. WHAT?? I don't like it. I strongly think Bluestar is demiromantic (if not for in headcanon ~ aromantic and COMPHETTING), because everything there was strange. Man. NOT a Blue Oak enjoyer.

BlueScourge Bluestar and Scourge. Oh so this is a joke okay. I'm not going to comment because this is obviously absurd.

BlueThistle Bluestar and Thistleclaw. Even worse, almost. I think that if people ship this , again, they are probably 9 years old. Young warrior cats fans tend to just like. Ship things. First of all what. Literally what. Bluestar was like man I KNOW this guy is a danger. a menace. I will give up my children to literally stop everyone from having to deal with this guy. (What is it about women giving up things in warrior cats to get Thistleclaw to stop things ~ from their children to their ability to be a warrior instead of a med cat ~ speak UP girlies!!). Bluestar literally watched Thistleclaw raise his apprentice into a murderer that betrayed her and drove her into literal clinical insanity. No. No. No.

BrightCloud Brightheart and Cloudtail. THEM! They're an icon in the warrior cats fandom, certainly. I think it was very wholesome how Cloudtail believed in Brightheart after her injury! (But.. I think it's unfortunate that one cat being unableist constitues wholesomeness but this is warrior cats) I like it. 10/10. This was the. Glory time of warrior cats. I even have a ceramic statue I made of Brightheart that has the Cloudtail quote on it ("As long as Cloudtail loved me, I was no longer Lostface, but Brightheart" or smth like that). ONEE thing I didn't like is how Cloudtail started fancying Daisy and everyone was like ohh you know that's just how boys areee ;) like no that should NOT be that way thats messed up man don't neglect ur wife. But it was okay that was just a one second problem. Also the two are really mouse-brained in the manga where they literally do not know what a bird is for like the entire book pages HAH. the scrimbles.

BrambleFeather Brambleclaw and Feathertail. Um what. literally all i can say. um what. people just ship anything at this point. "THEY TALKED TO EACH OTHER" that means they TALKED TO EACH OTHER nothing more

BrambleSquirrel Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight. Ok genuinely I know people say it's messed up but the last time I binge reread the squilf-bramble-centered books enough to actually process them in my brain was when I was like 9 and you know. 9 year olds just ship anything. I'm looking to do more research (reread the books or read forums LOL) as to why they are so bad because I idk if Moonkitti just made a video on how they were a bad ship and everyone was like YEAH or if they actually are a bad ship.

BrackenSorrel Brakenfur and Sorreltail. They. They certainly were there. As... side characters. I like sorreltail though soley because i think i liked how her name sounded when i was 7. Also the King map.

HollyWillow — hollyleaf and willowshine. I have a lot to say about this one because I genuinely believe from an objective standpoint that Hollyleaf DID like Willowshine when she was younger and that it got drastically overlooked. I do not understand how ships with such little canon basis get so much popularity while ships like this which are VERY easily backed by canon material get overlooked. For instance Hollypaw's heart is mentioned to "jump / leap like a fish" upon sight of Willowpaw in one of the books, she goes to sleepover at riverclan with Willowpaw after worrying about her and then when she returns to Thunderclan Jaypaw lectures Lionpaw about "don't go see Heatherpaw you can't have feelings for cats in other clans" and then Hollypaw THINKS ABOUT WILLOWPAW and says something (i don't remember what she says, it's surrounded by enough filler action that it's easy to understand it as a general statement but when u read just the dialogue it's evident that she was affected by Jaypaw's comment about not having feelings for cats in other clans) and starts shifting uncomfortably, then resolves to herself not to care about Willowpaw again and stops being a medicine cat. More on the subject warrior cats authors possibly mistakenly implying lesbian cats when trying to make she-cats who care about another she-cat in another clan but suddenly resolve not to as a plot device signifying they have passed some internal conflict related with loyalty later. (YES, that is a RECCURENT THING!!)

Mothpool I am in a dark room with vague understanding of my senses, only with the muted echos of some feeling of blissful, engulfing longing. or maybe i am literally jupming off the walls screaming crying and banging my fists into the floor. mothpool yes. VIOLENT emotions i tell you. MOTHPOOL!! *foams at the mouth and collapses*. Anyhow. From a PURELY canonical basis I see no reason that Mothpool is a logical ship. Mothpool has an age gap, the same age gap that people complain about with Bramble and Squirrel. "But leafpool said mothwing was pretty once at a gathering or something" OKAY??? That was ONE?? Time?? AND LEAFPOOL LITERALLY HAS A HUSBAND WHAT ARE U ON ABT?? Are we gonna ignore that?? BUT! In fanon. We DO ignore all that warrior cats fans literally make up whatever they want. In fanon. they are like all the fans channel their desire for one (1) explicitly canon (ravenbarley, talljake are semi/implied canon, yes) gay relationship in warrior cats as well as project really hard onto mothpool and then it becomes something really cool. i like it its like all the gay warrior cats fans collectively splintered off a peice of their own experience being gay and sewed it all together and dressed it up as two cats and now we have this cool like. thing. warrior cats maps and fanfics and art. i dont even care i will never NOT like mothpool. Mothwing herself is pretty awesome (i hate how she succumbed to background character syndrome and lost her coolness though, but ofc canon is what I MAKE IT so i will ignore that) i think that in the Prowl stages of life development there was early childhood, mothpool, teenage, and then there will be adult and beyond. mothpool, you guys. i ! i dont even like leafpool that much in canon! but like . can you see how little logic i have here. its like there is a little flashing neon sign in my brain that i cannot turn off that goes "mothpool" "mothpool" "mothpool" for no reason. nonetheless, i strongly believe that in CANON they have really nothing going for each other except for being chill w each other and i also strongly believe that mothwing is aromantic asexual because she never showed interest in any other cat... it's just the completely separate and unique story and culture that the fans have created around them that i find really interesting and telling of a group of people's way of expressing their often-oppressed experiences !!!
